Eureka Williams, MS, LCSW

My background includes 6 years post graduate experience in mental health. I started with crisis intervention at a behavioral health hospital. After some time, I obtained a full-time position at another facility and worked as an Intake Coordinator and Clinical Manager of Behavioral Health inpatient and outpatient services. The programs served adolescent (ages 12-17) and adult (ages 18+) patients who were suffering from a substance abuse or mental health crisis.  I gained experience with group therapy, family therapy, discharge planning (to ensure seamless transition to the next provider), multidisciplinary collaboration (with physicians, therapists, RN’s), and community engagement through volunteer work providing brief psychoeducation.

The primary therapy model that I will use as your therapist is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT is a short term, problem solving method utilized to address emotional challenges. It’s proven to be effective for persons exhibiting symptoms of a mood related disorder. Through CBT you will learn how your feelings effect your behaviors and learn techniques to address unhelpful emotions. Other therapeutic approaches (i.e. Family Systems, Strengths Based, Mindfulness Based, etc.) will be used as appropriate to suit your individual counseling needs.

I know that starting therapy can sometimes feel overwhelming, and I commend you for taking this brave step. As your counselor, it is my desire to provide you with a safe and therapeutic environment to meet your counseling goals so that you can continue forward in the path to emotional healing.

Ciara O'Neal, MS, LPC-Intern (Under Supervision of Loren Hervey, LPC-S)

I started my journey in the mental health field over 5 years ago working in the community with at risk youth, and their families to promote positive youth development and reduced recidivism. I later transitioned to suicide prevention and crisis counseling serving as clinician for the crisis hotline and mobile crisis outreach team (MCOT) for Dallas and 6 surrounding counties.

During my times as a crisis clinician I worked with clients of all ages, from all backgrounds of life, and also worked closely with hospitals, law enforcement, schools, and other agencies to serve clients in crisis. I also have experience as clinical group therapist working within a mental health hospital and intensive outpatient program with both adults and adolescents.

For as long as I can remember, I have always had the passion to help individuals overcome barriers in life that relate to everyday life stressors, trauma, grief, adversity, and mental illness. I have had success in doing so, as I believe in being an advocate for my clients, promoting self-awareness, helping clients challenge cognitive distortions they may struggle with, and through problem solving. This approach helps individuals better understand, develop skills to cope, and express emotions in healthier ways; which result in improved self-confidence, improved relationships, and overall quality of life and mental stability.
