Ciara O'Neal, MS, LPC

817-361-4545 Ext: 1

I started my journey in the mental health field over 5 years ago working in the community with at risk youth, and their families to promote positive youth development and reduced recidivism. I later transitioned to suicide prevention and crisis counseling serving as clinician for the crisis hotline and mobile crisis outreach team (MCOT) for Dallas and 6 surrounding counties.

During my times as a crisis clinician I worked with clients of all ages, from all backgrounds of life, and also worked closely with hospitals, law enforcement, schools, and other agencies to serve clients in crisis. I also have experience as clinical group therapist working within a mental health hospital and intensive outpatient program with both adults and adolescents.

For as long as I can remember, I have always had the passion to help individuals overcome barriers in life that relate to everyday life stressors, trauma, grief, adversity, and mental illness. I have had success in doing so, as I believe in being an advocate for my clients, promoting self-awareness, helping clients challenge cognitive distortions they may struggle with, and through problem solving. This approach helps individuals better understand, develop skills to cope, and express emotions in healthier ways; which result in improved self-confidence, improved relationships, and overall quality of life and mental stability.
