Christopher "Scott" Timms, LPC-Associate
I’m a 41-year-old counselor, born and raised in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. I’m an eight-year Army veteran and combat veteran, and those experiences continue to shape the way I show up for the people I work with. Before becoming a counselor, I spent eight years teaching and four years working in school counseling, which gave me a deep understanding of how stress, trauma, and life transitions impact both young people and families.
I earned my graduate degree from Lamar University and have experience working with trauma and people navigating difficult life situations. My theoretical approach is grounded in body-based therapies and mindfulness practices. I believe healing is not just something that happens through talking, but through learning how to regulate the nervous system, build awareness, and reconnect with a sense of safety and control.
My goal is to help you move toward the changes you want to see in your life. Therapy with me is collaborative and goal-oriented. Whether you’re navigating stress, trauma, transitions, or simply feeling stuck, we’ll work together to create practical steps forward while also addressing the deeper patterns that may be holding you back.
Outside of my work, I’m a dad to a 10-year-old daughter and share my home with a senior blind dog and a black cat. I value family, resilience, and steady growth—both personally and professionally.
